After some technical difficulties arise, the CU group is left trying to piece together the episode that they lost. In doing so, we talk about a new show called "The 100," some games and comics including "BattleBlock Theater" and "Daredevil: End of Days," as well as what usernames or emails that we regret using when we were younger.

Episode 23 - Tom Nook's a Bitch

This is our premiere episode where we change up the format to one hour long episodes. With a smaller group than usual, we discuss only a few games, movies, and comics that we’ve read in the past week. The one topic that we discuss is the reasons why for some people following the gaming industry is more enjoyable than playing the actual games.

Episode 22 - Headcanon Approved (I'll Allow It)

It took us twenty-two episodes, but we finally managed to take on the one true dark topic: fanfiction. After that discussion, it takes us into why most television show’s main protagonists are usually one-sided. “Sonic Boom” happened while we were away, and we now dig our teeth into the concept of Asian properties (such as Sonic) becoming ‘westernized’ for North American audiences. The final topic that we address is the concept of binge watching.

Games mentioned: Sonic Boom, Defiance, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dishonored, Tales of Symphonia, and Titanfall

Comics mentioned: Locke & Key Vol. 1, Moon Knight (2006 & 2010), and Vengeance of the Moon Knight

Episode 21 - Bite the Hand that Feeds

This is another solo episode that discusses four main topics, with each one just as significant as the previous one. The initial discussion is about comic book solicitations and how I feel that they spoil a bit too much for the consumers. The discussion then leads into talking about social media such as Facebook and Twitter and why I’m so hesitant to actually create a page and a username for this podcast. The third topic discussed resembles the mental illness awareness discussion that was discussed in a previous episode. The fourth and final topic is about ignorant companies banning amazingly well-made third-party apps, such as what recently went on with Tinder blocking the recent 6tindr app.

Episode 20 - One Sex, Please!

With New Year’s Eve just happening, the group gets into discussing why there is a feeling that New Years can cleanse a person and make them feel like it’s a fresh start, as well as we question why other people decide to make New Year’s Resolutions. The few comics that we discuss are Daredevil: End of Days, Moon Knight, and even the highly acclaimed Hawkeye series. To end it off, the movies that are mentioned and talked about are: Anchorman 2, Catching Fire, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and American Hussle.

Episode 19 - Ripping Stuff Off (I Stuck it in a Saw)

The CU group is back for another episode of unoriginality with Jake kicking things off by telling us what not to stick in a saw. After that we give our opinions on our ongoing creative concept “Point Episodes” and agree that unified group episodes are better just because we can feed off of one another. Those of us who have seen “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” gave our opinions on it, concluding that it suffers from being the second part of the trilogy and because of that it doesn’t feel like one concise story. Also, apparently graphic designers can get away with a lot in the real world including overusing the “Impact” font.

Episode 18 - Self-Entitled

In another stripped down episode, we get into the idea of motivations (or lack of) as well as whether or not people and society is becoming more and more self-entitled. The episode begins by detailing a new creative concept that we will try out called “Point Episodes.” The essential idea is that there would be a central theme or idea or question that we would all answer, but we would record separately. Afterwards it discusses the lack of motivations that’s been occurring, and finally ending with the theme of whether or not we as a society is becoming more self-entitled.

Episode 17 - Year One

Stripping down this episode in a very intimate way, this episode deals with mental illnesses and society's view on them. It begins with the usual video games and comic book summaries. Another thing discussed on this episode is how this whole project has been ongoing for a year now, and this is delved into very extensively, as well as how hard it is to get everyone together to record the episodes. The main meat of this episode is about mental illnesses and the stigma that society has created on these issues.

Episode 16 - Space Rapists, and because Money

The CU group get into the same ol’ same ol’ for this episode. The movie ‘Gravity’ is discussed and how it effectively utilized 3D, as well as how space is the best place to be a rapist because you can’t hear the other person scream. We talk about the “What if’s” that we have and how they affect our decisions and lives. We discuss the notion of developers adding “fluff” content into games just to make them expansive and increase their longevity, and even developers changing game genres for franchises to get a wider demographic.

Episode 15 – Damn Cats and Tasteful Black Sheep

The CU group deals with a few topics in this episode, as well as some energetic cats. We get into the game “Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles” and explain why we have fond memories with it. We also discuss how certain comic book inspired adaptations have characters that eventually get written into the actual comics; in this case we talk about the character of Diggle from “Arrow” and how he is now added into the Green Arrow comic series. With the anticipated release of Pokémon X and Y, we give our opinions on whether or not the series has reached a ridiculous status, and the new features of these games. With the announcement of Steam OS and the Steam Box, we discuss our opinions on the future of these devices. And we try to answer the age old question: “Why do we have favourite colours?” We then discuss why our society watches “reality” shows that glorify teen pregnancies, sex and drug addictions, as well as the idea why tasteful nudity in our society is unacceptable compared to these. To end it off we get into the idea of “black sheeps,” (the creative things in our lives that we feel negatively towards) and how they make us grow as individuals.

Episode 13 - Self-Publishing Moth

In this episode, the CU group decides to finally get into the topic of self-publishing and crowd-sourcing sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter. The episode kicks off with the usual stories of our weekly adventures, which end up leading into a discussion of "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic," and whether it has held its own against time. The Xbox One’s self-publishing rights are talked about as well as our thoughts on Microsoft allowing developers to use the Xbox One as its own development kit. A discussion about the differences between graphics and aesthetics of a game is something that is touched upon, as well as the differences between “cloned” games and games that utilize game mechanics of other games and improve upon them.

Episode 11 - Banana Sundae

The CU group conjure the eleventh episode by detailing how Magic the Gathering is just as addictive as drugs, and that the XBLA game is really useful to beginners of the franchise. The 90’s and early 2000’s nostalgia catches us when we discuss the Pokémon card game, as well as Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Beyblades. Somehow we transitioned into our adventures into adult shops, and how each visit seems to get more and more awkward. We came to the realisation that we were correct when we were younger and thought that certain subjects in school would be useless to us later on in our lives. Also, the difference between Western culture and Eastern cultures when it comes to honor and patriotism. As for video games, “Ni no Kuni,” “Bulletstorm,” and “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” are the few that we have played over the week that we discuss.
